What is an Authorised Economic Operator
(AEO)
An Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) is a SARS-approved status granted to companies involved in the international movement of goods, recognising them as trusted, low-risk traders who meet the World Customs Organisation’s global standards for compliance and supply chain security.
Level 2 goes beyond internal compliance and requires a company to secure its entire supply chain end to end, covering physical premises, cargo handling, staff vetting and IT systems. In return, holders receive priority border treatment and mutual recognition of their trusted trader status across all five SACU member states.

AEO Certification for Nungufreight International
Having attained AEO certification in South Africa, Nungufreight continues to demonstrate its commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and secure international trade practices. The Authorised Economic Operator compliance programme is associated with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) customs.
It is an important programme to ensure that an organisation meets certain criteria and can be held responsible for customs matters including:
